If you're considering rhinoplasty abroad, safety is probably the first question on your mind — and it should be. Turkey performs more cosmetic surgery procedures for international patients than almost any other country, but that doesn't mean every clinic offers the same standard of care. Here's what actually determines whether your surgery is safe, and how to check it before you book.
Look at the Surgeon's Credentials, Not Just the Clinic's Marketing
A polished website and good reviews matter, but they don't replace verified qualifications. Look for board certification in otolaryngology (ENT) or plastic surgery, an academic title such as Associate Professor, and a track record of years in active surgical practice not just years the clinic has existed.
Ask How Your Procedure Will Be Planned
A safe, well-planned rhinoplasty starts with a thorough consultation, not a rushed video call. You should expect a detailed discussion of your anatomy, your goals. If a clinic can't show you this level of planning, that's a sign to keep looking.
Check Where the Surgery Actually Takes Place
Some lower-cost providers operate out of facilities that aren't equipped or accredited for surgical procedures. A legitimate clinic will be transparent about its hospital or surgical facility, anesthesia team, and post-operative monitoring ask directly if this isn't already clear on their website.
Understand What Happens After Surgery
Safety doesn't end when the procedure does. Ask what aftercare is included: follow-up appointments, how complications are handled if you've already flown home, and whether the clinic provides clear recovery guidance in your language.
Read Reviews Critically
Look for reviews that mention the full experience communication, recovery support, and results months later not just the day of surgery. A small number of detailed, specific reviews is more reassuring than a large number of generic five-star ratings.
